FERMIN MUGURUZA, hailed as a giant of REBEL MUSIC representing the Basque Country of Spain.

His music mixes street music such as ROCK, PUNK, SKA, REGGAE, and DRUM’N’BASS, singing messages about the Basque independence issue, the Palestinian issue, and critiques of capitalist society in the Basque language. Not limited to music activities, FERMIN MUGURUZA, who also engages in film production and comic creation, announced his retirement from world tours last year. This time, artists from countries including the Basque Country, Korea, Peru, Indonesia, and Spain will perform, and from Japan, a lineup of luxurious artists including roots music legends RANKIN TAXI and THE ZOOT16.

As a DJ, CARRIBEAN DANDY, who interprets the worldview related to REBEL MUSIC (ROCK LATINO / CUMBIA / MESTIZO / REGGAE / SKA / PATCHANKA / BALKAN / WORLD MUSIC / DUB / STEPPER / JUNGLE / PUNK...) centered around world music with a modern Tokyo style, embodies a one-and-only original Tokyo rockers style that pervades everything from selection, demeanor, and releases, joined by unique individuals from various regions of Japan.

JAPONICS, which invites artists from Latin America, Asia, and Europe, hooking up with Japanese artists to tour abroad, has been active worldwide based in Tokyo.

FERMIN MUGURUZA (Fermin Muguruza), a level music artist and revolutionary from the Basque Country, expresses a grand worldview that mixes all street music, such as rock, punk, ska, reggae, blues, and drum and bass. He has conveyed strong messages regarding the Basque independence issue, the Palestinian issue, and severe critiques of capitalist society in the Basque language. Last year, he announced his retirement from a large-scale world tour. Although he will continue his artistic activities, this performance in Japan will serve as his farewell show. With a powerful backing band featuring the trikitixa of ESNE BELTZA, percussion from RADIO BEMBA, female vocals from LA KINKY BEAT, and a horn section from KONTRAKANTXA and AFRO BASQUE FIRE BRIGADE, he will perform at Fuji Rock and the 25th anniversary of RADICAL MUSIC NETWORK. At Fuji Rock, he will appear as the closing act after Eminem on the last day, and his intense stage as a non-English-speaking artist has left a lasting memory for many. He previously performed at Fuji Rock in 2004 under the name FERMIN MUGURUZA KONTRABANDA. Furthermore, in 2007, he appeared at Fuji Rock's GREEN STAGE under the name FERMIN MUGURUZA AFRO BASQUE FIRE BRIGADE, and in 2013, he headlined ORANGE COURT under the name FERMIN MUGURUZA KONTRAKANTXA.
